- Megan Bingham
After her husband Mike is murdered, young FBI agent Cassie McKenna decides to take some much needed R & R. On leave from the Bureau, she moves back to her hometown in the Chesapeake Bay area of Virginia. She’s thrilled to sail her boat on the bay’s calm waters and to finally get relief from the sudden tragedy, both mentally and physically.
But the serenity she’s looking for does not last.
Soon, her old partner Jake Tucker appears pleading for help. When he disappears and reappears with serious, life-threatening injuries, Cass realizes she has to do everything in her power to protect him. Although she knows it will be painful to return to her tough line of work, she knows it’s the only way she can save others - as well as herself. Cass is hoping that uncovering the twists and turns of her own mystery will also help her discover Mike’s killer.
Bloody Point is a suspenseful page-turner from the very beginning. Local author Linda J. White has created a masterpiece for her first novel. Her realistic characterization allows the reader to form a close personal relationship with Cassie McKenna, whose personality changes clearly document her going through turbulent, tragic times, and then realizing that “life isn’t all about her.” Instead it’s about the people she surrounds herself with, which causes quite a challenge when danger is right on your heels.
Recently, Linda White spoke at The Women’s Forum in Fredericksburg, where she shared her experiences writing novels, along with the ever-busy publishing field and the challenges it brings to authors, nationally and worldwide. I had the pleasure of meeting her and speaking to her about her novels. Her inspiration comes from her husband, a retired FBI agent, their mutual interest in sailing, and the beautiful and tranquil Chesapeake Bay. Readers can visit her Facebook page here.
