If you like "Good in Bed" by Jennifer Weiner
Thank you for contacting the Central Rappahannock Regional Library for a
Book Match. We love connecting readers to the right books.
You said that you enjoyed "Good in Bed" by Jennifer Weiner and "Isle of
Palms" by Dorthea Benton Frank. I loved both of those titles!
Both of the titles you mentioned feature strong, outspoken (some would
say sassy!) heroines. We have two reading lists that may have other
books you'll enjoy. From the library's home page, click on "reading
room" and follow the links to Book Lists. Specifically to "Dating and
Other Disasters of Modern Life" and "Southern Scenes".
Some titles from those lists that I think you might like:
"Making Minty Malone" by Isabel Wolff. Minty thinks that getting dumped
at the altar, in front of 300 guests, is the worst thing that could ever
happen to her. Actually, it's the best thing.
"Animal Husbandry" by Laura Zigman. Jane doesn't understand why Ray
would dump her after professing undying love - and after she's broken
her lease and moved in with him.
"Neurotica" by Sue Margolis. Anna accepts what starts out as just
another writing assignment - write an article about an American
bestseller. But she finds her life is getting more complicated after
she reads the book, which actively promotes cheating in marriages.
"In Full Bloom" by Caroline Hwang. Ginger Lee is almost thirty. She is
surprised and unhappy when her Korean mother shows up at her Manhattan
apartment and announces that she's staying until she finds a husband for
Ginger before she turns thirty and "loses her bloom".
All of these titles are available from the Central Rappahannock Regional
Library. If you have a library card with us, we'd be happy to put any
of these titles on hold for you. Call your nearest branch for
assistance.
Hope you enjoy these titles!

Thanks for requesting a "Book Match" from the Central Rappahannock
Regional Library. We love connecting readers with the just the books!
You like anything by Jennifer Weiner, so I'm assuming you like
contemporary titles with lots of humor and maybe some romance. Have I
got a book list for you. Click here for "Dating and Other Disasters of Modern Life". I just KNOW you will
find titles there that you will love.
A few titles from that list that I especially loved:
"Making Minty Malone" by Isabel Wolff. Minty Malone thinks getting
dumped at the alter in front of 250 guests is the worst thing that could
ever happen to her. Little does she know it's really the best.
"Otherwise Engaged" by Suzanne Finnamore. Eve is thrilled when Michael
proposes. One man for the rest of her life! But then the day to day
reality starts to set in when she thinks about one. man. for. the. rest.
of. her. life.
"Welcome to My Planet: Where English is Sometimes Spoken" by Shannon
Olson. Shannon is 31 years old, doesn't love her job, doesn't have a
boyfriend and her social life seems to be visiting her parents on
weekends to do laundry.
Another list you might enjoy is "Love and Laughter". Try these:
"The Spy Who Kissed Me" by Pauline Baird Jones. A surprising funny
contemporary romance where the man of Isabel's dreams literally drops
into her lap.
"Tomcat in Love" by Tim O'Brien. Thomas Chippering desperately wants his
estranged wife but he just as badly wants to continue pursuing virtually
every woman who crosses his path.
I hope you enjoy these titles.
