If you like Jan Brett...

I also love Jan Brett's books because her art work is so special. If
you have not seen any of her others you should look for them. Some of
my favorites (more snow pictures) are: Annie and the Wild Animals, The
Mitten: a Ukranian Folktale, The Wild Christmas Reindeer, Christmas
Trolls, and The Hat. If you visit the library you can find most of her
books in the Juvenile Easy Collection. There are many to choose from
and a librarian will be happy to help you.

Some other good stories with beautiful art work are:

Heckedy Peg by Audrey Wood is the story of a mother who saves her
children from a witch who has changed them into food.

The Rooster and the Fox by Helen Ward is the story of a rooster's clever
escape from a crafty fox.

Kiss the Cow by Phyllis Root is the story of how a daughter upsets the
family cow by refusing to kiss her after the milking.

Trina Schart Hyman's version of Little Red Riding Hood is another
beautiful telling of the famous story you probably know.

Unwitting Wisdom an Anthology of Aesop's Fables by Helen Ward is a
gorgeous collection of these famous and well known stories.

You can place a hold on any of these through our website
www.librarypoint.org or go by your
nearest CRRL branch to browse for something special.
