So glad you asked for a Book Match about a great classic!
Here are 3 titles I'd like to recommend.

I'm so glad you liked Bud Not Buddy! It's one of my favorite books, too! Here are three titles I'd like to suggest.

Dave at Night by Gail Carson Levine
When orphaned Dave is sent to the Hebrew Home for Boys and treated
cruelly there, he sneaks out at night and is welcomed into the music-

I'm so glad to know you enjoyed The Count of Monte Cristo!
Although it's been a long time since I read it, I agree it's very
exciting reading. So, here are three titles I'd like to recommend.

Fever, 1793 by Laurie Halse Anderson.
In 1793 Philadelphia, sixteen-year-old Matilda Cook, separated from her sick mother, learns about perseverance and self-reliance when she is forced to cope with the horrors of a yellow fever epidemic.

If you enjoy both humorous and mystery books, here are some recommendations:

Beanpole / by Barbara Park.
Thirteen-year-old Lillian, miserable about being a "beanpole" and a

The dark stairs : a Herculeah Jones mystery / by Betsy Byars.

 Here are three titles I hope you'll find deliciously spine-chilling.

beginning mystery titles and series that you might enjoy. Since you liked Puppy in a Puddle by Ben M. Baglio, I would suggest that you might also enjoy some of the other titles in the Animal Ark series. Here are some book titles I hope you enjoy:
