Plant clinics presented by Virginia Cooperative Extension Master Gardeners every Thursday night, 6:30 - 8:30, beginning June 1 and continuing until July 25. The Porter Branch wants to help you write your novel! If you are 13 and up, join us for a Camp NaNoWriMo Kickoff on Tuesday, July 2, from 5pm to 9pm. We’ll have S’mores, writing resources, and we'll show you how to get online support. We’ll show you how to sign up for a cabin at campnanowrimo.org where you’ll get online support, tracking tools, and a hard deadline to help you write the rough draft of your novel in a month. There’s more! If you need help researching your novel, ask the Research Desk and we’ll find out what kind of tools were used during trepanning in Ancient Egypt or how many pairs of gloves the typical noblewoman in England owned during the Edwardian period. Do you need space to work on your novel? We have set aside a meeting room just for writers on various July days.
