Camp NaNoWriMo: “An Idyllic Retreat, Smack-Dab in the Middle of Your Hectic Life”
We’ll help you write your Great American Novel at Camp NaNoWriMo! We’ll have s’mores, writing resources, and space set aside just for writers at our Porter and Snow branches this July. You can sign up for a virtual cabin at www.campnanowrimo.org where you’ll get online support, tracking tools, and a hard deadline to help you write the rough draft of your novel in a month. There’s more! If you need help researching your novel, ask the Research Desk! We can find those elusive facts for you, like what kind of tools were used during trepanning in Ancient Egypt or how many pairs of gloves the typical noblewoman in England owned during the Edwardian period. Kickoff for the Camp is Tuesday, July 2, from 5:00-9:00 pm at Porter, and 5:00-7:00 pm at Snow. For more information about NaNoWriMo and Camp NaNoWriMo, please visit www.campnanowrimo.org or ask a Research Librarian at Porter, 540-659-4909, or Snow, 540-507-7565.
