Comic Art Show

Comic artist with portrait of Wonder Woman

If you’re a fan of all things comic, from Marvel to Pokemon, you’ll want to check out CRRL's Third Annual Comic Art Show during the month of May. The best part of the exhibit is that everyone is invited to participate. Artists of all ages can submit one to two original pieces of comic work. From paneled stories to canvas portraits, submissions in many forms will be on display. Detailed rules, framing requirements, and registration forms can be found in brochures at all library branches and online. Artwork submissions will be accepted at Salem Church Branch from Friday, April 21, to Friday, April 28.

Celebrate at the opening reception on Saturday, May 13, 2:30-4:30, where fans can mingle with artists and enjoy comic art activities.

Comic aficionados will also want to attend other special events at Salem Church Branch. Budding artists can explore the art of drawing during Sketch Up, Draw Away!, an open workshop with expert artists on Saturday, May 6, 2:30-4:30. Comic cinema enthusiasts (grade 6-adult), come watch Guardians of the Galaxy on Wednesday, May 10, 6:00-8:00. Contact Christine Carlson at 540-785-9267 with questions about these Salem Church Branch events.

Finish the month with our annual CRRL-Con at England Run Branch on Saturday, May 20, 1:00-4:00!
