Welcome from the Library Director, Martha Hutzel

Martha Hutzel, Library Director

Welcome to the Central Rappahannock Regional Library! Although the library has its first new director in 34 years, we will continue to offer the quality library service that resulted in our once again being named a National STAR Library by Library Journal, and receiving the Fredericksburg Regional Chamber of Commerce Community Impact Award! These accolades are only possible because we have such a robust, generous and strong community that offers support and appreciation for public libraries. We are committed to our mission to provide the resources and services necessary to meet the evolving educational, recreational, and informational needs of the public, thereby enhancing individual and community life.

The CRRL offers diverse services to the people of the City of Fredericksburg and the counties of Stafford, Spotsylvania and Westmoreland. It gives me great pleasure to offer the library’s many resources in our eight facilities, through our mobile delivery services and online at our award-winning website librarypoint.org. We offer classes and events for all ages, from babes in arms to seniors, from STEM classes to tax preparation to ESOL classes. Additionally, our free WiFi and our website, librarypoint.org, are available 24/7, and your research questions and homework assistance needs can be met in person, over the telephone, via text or online. Please download our free mobile app for immediate access to our collections, branch hours and locations, renewing library materials, or checking our classes and events.

We encourage everyone in the community to obtain a library card, stop by any branch, visit us online, or enjoy one of our many in-house or outreach services. Our quarterly magazine, @Your Library, is chock full of services, classes, events and other library related details and is available at every branch as well as many community locations. Pick one up today!  You can also learn more here about the best-kept secrets of the library!

I am proud of the CRRL’s ongoing contribution to lifelong education for all, regardless of age, socioeconomic status, religion, race, or any other factor. The support of our wonderful community makes the library better. We encourage you, our customers, to express opinions about library services.
