Film Series @ England Run Branch
Join us for short films on organic growing, local food movement, and small and family farming. All films start at 7pm. This series is part of "Cultivating Community" is a community-wide program designed to share information in the Fredericksburg region about farm-to-table and sustainable food communities.
May 17 – Fresh
This documentary celebrates the farmers, thinkers and business people across America who are re-inventing our food system.
May 31 – Truck Farm
This film tells the story of a new generation of quirky urban farmers. Using green roof technology and heirloom seeds, filmmaker Ian Cheney (KING CORN, THE CITY DARK) plants a vegetable garden on the only land he's got: his Granddad's old pickup.
June 14 – Farming Forward
This documentary paints an intimate portrait of Minnesota’s burgeoning diversity of small family farms, from the rural to the urban, from multi-generational farms to new immigrant operations, from organic to local (or both!) and every point in between.
