New Year's Eve is a time for renewal and new beginnings. It is an opportunity for the community to look ahead collectively with hope and optimism and appreciate their common bonds. Harriet Zieferts book "First Night" captures the excitment of New Years Eve through the eyes of a child as Amada Dade leads her town through the last few seconds of the old year and into the new during the local First Night parade.
Since 1994, First Night® Fredericksburg has become a holiday tradition and city treasure. First Night® Fredericksburg's mission and goal is to provide a safe, entertaining, and family friendly alternative to traditional New Year's Eve celebrations. With a schedule packed full of music and performances, First Night is a fabulous way for a family to ring in the new year! Admission buttons can be purchased at the Headquarters branch of the Central Rappahannock Regional Library as well as other local locations for $5.00 each.
