Stir vinegar and castile soap together. Pour mixed liquid on washing soda until dissolved--you may need to add boiling water to help the process. Add essential oil and combine. An easy alternative for your hardwood floors, and refreshing as well!

Kindling Wraps (page 63)

  • Finely chopped kindling wood
  • Dried herbs and grasses
  • Tissue or newspaper, cut in 2-inch wide strips
  • Raffia Twine
  • Beeswax, paraffin or old candle stubs to melt down
  • Old Paint Brush

Wrap tissue or newspaper stripes around the kindling wood, and 4-5 pieces of dry herbs and grasses. Tie with raffia twine. Dip the bundle into melted beeswax, and add extra later with paint brush.

When using for a fire: Use one or two bundles.
