Job Help at the Library

According to the Washington Business Journal and Fredericksburg Patch, GEICO is in the process of hiring 725 new employees for its Fredericksburg offices. Here’s how the library can help you snag one of those jobs!

Rappahannock Goodwill Industries and the Library have partnered to open a job help center at the England Run Branch Library in southern Stafford. The Job Help Center provides free training in basic keyboarding and computer use, application writing, effective interviewing, and résumé & cover-letter preparation. The Job Help Center is open 9:00 - 11:00 a.m., Tuesday through Thursday. Please call 540-899-1703 to make an appointment for help! But, wait—there's more:

Our JobNow service, one of several free employment-related resources you can access from home at with your library card, is a fantastic provider of help for job seekers. Live coaches help users strategically target jobs best-suited to their interests and qualifications, work on interview skills, and craft effective résumés and cover letters. JobNow also includes 24/7 access to a carefully selected library of employment resources, including résumé templates and samples.

CRRL is also home to a large selection of books on résumé and cover letter writing, interviewing skills, career information, and more. Visit any one of our eight library branches, and you will walk out with a nice stack of books to help you!

If you have any questions or need additional assistance not presented in these resources, please call or visit the Research Desk at your local branch or contact us online. We’re always happy to help!  Also, Rappahannock Goodwill Industries has other Job Help Centers around the area.
