Whatever your reasons for choosing to homeschool, if you are just starting out, you will need to know what is involved, what steps you must take to educate your children successfully, and what resources there are to help you in your quest to teach them. If you want to learn more about homeschooling and how the library can support your efforts, please come join us for one or both of the classes at England Run Branch: Homeschooling 101 on Wednesday, June 21, at 7:00, and Homeschooling Through High School on Wednesday, August 16, at 7:00.
Perhaps you chose to home educate years ago and are beginning to wonder how to teach your children now that they are high school students. Do you do things differently, or is it more of the same? Are there special classes, groups, curricula, and help as you tackle algebra, AP History, literature, and physics labs?
Many of the answers you seek can be found at your library. The library has staff trained to help you find legal and educational answers to your questions about homeschooling and the various subjects necessary for a well-rounded curriculum. We also have books, articles, videos, teaching series, and databases filled with information that will help you learn what you need to know in order to teach your children well.
