Cafe Book
CRRL instructors partner with school librarians to facilitate book discussion on a selection of current teen literature. Students demonstrate the ability to identify and explain an author's use of literary devices, such as plot, setting and characterization, as they determine the critical or central ideas of a text and learn evaluation skills as they read and discuss the best current books for teens. Grades 7 & 8 only. This program is full for 2012-13; please email Rebecca Purdy at rpurdy@crrl.org for more information.

Reliable Research Class
We’ve made it easy for you to introduce your students to some of the best specialized research tools we offer. Students become familiar with methods for locating reliable information as they develop skills for using the best available resources for assignments. 

Teen Art Show
Students demonstrate creativity and artistic talent with original artwork and learn exhibition skills by submitting their creations for a month-long exhibit at the Headquarters Library.  Students in grades 11 and  12  also  develop  critical  evaluation skills  by judging the work of younger participants. Grades 9-12 only.

Teen Poetry Contest
Students clarify, extend, or elaborate on ideas by using  vivid  language such a  imagery, figurative language and sound  elements to creat  and submit original poetry.
