Celebrate Children's Book Week: May 11-17

Children's Book Week is a time to celebrate books and reading in classrooms, libraries, bookstores, and homes. How will you and your family mark the occasion?

At Porter Library you can illustrate your favorite book and enjoy Children's Book Week storytimes for preschoolers. Children can read with a teen from a local high school club and get a personalized bookmark as a souvenir each evening this week at Headquarters.  At every branch, you'll find storytimes and other programs to bring children and books together.  Find more Children's Book Week programs here.  Librarians are standing by to recommend great books for you and your family to share, or check out one of our booklists online.

This year marks the 90th anniversary of Children's Book Week, sponsored by the Children's Book Council. In addition to local celebrations, kids around the country had the chance to vote online for their favorite books.  Find out the results here on Wednesday, May 13.
