CRRL Librarian Honored

CRRL web content librarian, Virginia Johnson, has received the highest award for a nonfiction book in the Virginia Press Women’s 2009 Communications Contest. Published last year, Virginia Horse Racing: Triumphs of the Turf, a beautifully illustrated history of horse racing in Virginia, was co-authored with Johnson's mother, Barbara Crookshanks.  Copies are available for borrowing or purchase from the Friends of the Library. Johnson was also commended for several  feature articles written for the CRRL Web site: Mum’s the Word ,   A Free-for-all Family Summer, and The Queene of Pomonky.
