Join noted author Dr. Gary W. Gallagher for a discussion of his forthcoming book, "Becoming Confederates: Paths to a New National Loyalty." Dr. Gallagher will discuss Robert E. Lee's loyalties to Virginia, the United States, the South, and the Confederacy within the context of sectional discord during the mid-19th century. He will emphasize the need to think of Lee as a complex person whose loyalty to Virginia did not always guide his actions. Co-sponsored with Stratford Hall.
