The staff of the Central Rappahannock Regional Library are thrilled to announce restoration of the evening and Sunday hours that were curtailed two years ago due to budget cuts. Starting on Sunday, July 8, the Porter, England Run and Headquarters libraries will join the Salem Church library in opening from 1:00-5:30 on Sundays. Starting the week of July 8, the Porter, England Run and Headquarters libraries will join the Salem Church and Snow libraries in staying open until 9:00 Monday through Thursday.
Library Board chairman Dr. Sam Smart commented, “We have worked over the last two years to get to the point where we could re-open these branches on Sundays and evenings. Speaking on behalf of the Library Board, I am thrilled that the public will now have access to library services and resources every day of the week.”
Library Director Donna Cote expressed her appreciation of the support the Central Rappahannock Regional Library received from the local jurisdictions that made it possible to restore library hours. “It’s heartening to know that libraries are considered an essential public service, not just by library users but by the elected officials in our area. All of us want the CRRL open to welcome the happy family who visits on Sunday afternoon or the student who takes these hours to prepare for the coming week,” she said.
