The information in this database comes from the research of John "Jack" Johnson, long-time Fredericksburg resident and devoted historian. He spent many hours at the Library of Virginia for his researches. He also collected announcements from the Virginia Herald newspaper, available on microfilm at the Central Rappahannock Regional Library. His principal area of interest was port records after 1782.
Jack Johnson died in April of 1999. He is sorely missed.
