Ever notice how penguins look very much alike and act alike? Not Tacky. He’s so clumsy and silly the other penguins don’t know what to make of him. But they are very grateful when Tacky, by thinking so differently than the rest of them, comes up with a plan to save their home from greedy hunters. A very silly book.
First in a series.
Emperor penguins are very good at looking after their chicks. The father will keep his egg warm for two months. While he waits, setting the egg on his feet and warming it with his soft feathers, he eats nothing at all!
Words and photographs portray a colony of chinstrap penguins on Bouvet Island in the Antarctic Ocean, from spring when they lay their eggs, through summer when the chicks hatch, to autumn when they leave the island until their return next spring.
The creators of Curious George tell a tale of a teller of tales. Whiteblack, chief storyteller for the penguins’ radio station in Antarctica, has run out of interesting stories. So he hops in a boat and cruises away, determined to find something new to talk about in his travels.
