Due to rising COVID-19 hospitalizations and cases in our service region, we made the difficult decision to temporarily return to curbside pickup and phone services-only starting Monday, January 10. Customers are still able to place items on hold and collect them using curbside pickup, so your ability to check out materials is not interrupted. You are able to reserve a Book Group in a Bag, request Interlibrary Loans, Suggest a Purchase, and get materials printed, opens a new window. Materials can continue to be returned to bookdrops anytime. Overdue fees are not being charged.
To prioritize customer and staff safety, the public will not be able to enter library buildings or make reservations for meeting or study rooms until we return to in-branch service. We are ready to do so quickly when local COVID rates abate.
The library has distributed over 12,000 rapid at-home COVID-19 test kits and is prepared to distribute more as soon as they are back in stock. Due to supply chain issues, as of January 12, 2022, we do not expect to receive more tests from the Virginia Department of Health for several weeks. Any updates to branch access, or the availability of test kits, will be announced on librarypoint.org and our social media.
