Lobby Stops
The Lobby Stops service visits more than a dozen assisted living facilities and senior apartments, including those in the Lake Anna area. At these residential facilities, library staff bring browsing materials and requested items directly to customers, customizing our selections and services to meet the needs of these special audiences.
To receive items at Lobby Stops, select "Lobby Stop" as your holds pickup location.
Meet the Library on the Go Specialist, Jenny McGee
Jenny finds a warm welcome wherever the van pulls up. "At each stop, I bring the computer, all my equipment, a table, and several carts full of not only browsing materials, but specific customer requests. The fact that I can do all the customers' reference work excites them the most, but is closely followed by the eclectic (and constantly changing) browsing collection. Since the majority of my lobby stops take place at senior apartments and assisted living facilities, the customers really love not having to brave the elements to come browse library materials."
Judging from the response, this service that takes the library on the road is a vehicle for success.

The Westmoreland Library on the Go Van
Westmoreland Library on the Go services are temporarily paused.
The Westmoreland Library on the Go service visits 10+ assisted living facilities, senior apartments, community centers, and more throughout Westmoreland County, twice monthly. At these regular stops, customers may enter the van to use laptops, wifi, and the printer as well as pick up requested items and place holds. CRRL staff will bring browsing materials tailored to each location’s audience, as well as provide research assistance and programming.
In addition, the van will drop boxes of read-and-return books to several Westmoreland County schools and daycares. Customers may borrow these items, then return them to the box when finished.

Satellite Locations
To accommodate those who are in rural areas of the service area, the library has two satellite locations open once a week in Spotsylvania County. They provide various services, such as checking out books, providing Internet access, and more.

Community Outreach
Throughout the year, CRRL staff bring library information and resources to thousands of local residents by attending festivals, expos, and community events. Contact our Director of Community Engagement at community.manager@crrl.org, or 540-372-1144 ext. 7016, if you are hosting an event you would like the library to attend.
Grow a Reader Outreach: For Educators, Parents, & Caregivers
Grow a Reader Outreach serves preschoolers, along with the educators and caregivers who support their development. The library currently partners with 18 preschools, 26 childcare facilities, and Head Start programs across Fredericksburg, Stafford County, and Spotsylvania County.
Each facility receives two storytimes annually—one in the spring and one in the fall—with the goal of fostering a love for reading, modeling effective read-aloud techniques, and creating joyful library experiences for children and adults alike.

Youth Services Program Van
The Youth Services Programming Vehicle brings essential library services into the community. We work with local school divisions and community organizations to identify neighborhoods that can benefit the most. This service has regularly scheduled stops offering literacy and STEM-focused programs for after-school homework clubs at these locations:

- Hazel Hill Apartments
