Judge's Statement

I am honored to have judged the Uniquely Stafford Art Show during these very unusual times. My perspective as a judge comes from my years as a visual artist and teacher. As someone who has entered many shows, I appreciate all the artists who entered and encourage each one to continue in their creative pursuits. There is nothing like diving into art to add quality to life. Time spent creating leads to places fueled specifically by your unique imagination. I tell my students, no one has been on this earth like you ever before. If you don’t make artwork which celebrates your own vision, who will?
The work selected for awards had some or all of these qualities: great use of color, strong design elements, interesting perspective and rich spotlighting of the facets of Stafford County, its people, and places.

To purchase any of these pieces, or for additional information about the show, email Anna Lowry, Graphics Department Head at anna.lowry@crrl.org.
