New 3D Printers Coming to IdeaSpace

Bambu Lab model to replace Dremel models in September

IdeaSpace, opens a new window is transitioning to a new model of 3D printer, the Bambu Lab A1. Bambu is a top manufacturer of high quality, fast, and easy-to-use 3D printers. The A1 differs from our outgoing Dremel 3D40/3D45s in a number of ways:

  • They are open-chambered models that are easier to access.
  • They are “bed slingers,” meaning the toolhead moves right and left (x-axis) while the heat bed moves up and down (y-axis).
  • They are auto-leveling -- no more turning knobs to manually level the heat bed.
  • They are entirely wireless -- no flash drives needed
  • Models adhere naturally to the textured surface of the removable heat bed during printing and release easily after the bed cools -- no more messy glue or tape.
  • The slicing software is significantly more powerful and offers options such as tree supports and model splitting to allow for larger prints.

The new Bambu 3D printers will be available for badging appointments, opens a new window starting September 8. As we make the transition in August, badged customers may continue to make equipment reservations on the existing Dremel 3D printers, but new 3D printer badging appointments won’t be accepted until the Bambus are open to the public on September 8. Additionally, due to the differences between the Dremels and the Bambus, all customers already badged on the Dremel will be asked to get badged again on the Bambus.

IdeaSpace is excited to share these new printers and their improved capabilities with the public soon!
