March 2026: Library Awarded Community Foundation Grant for Summer Reading
The Robert Cullen O’Neill Memorial Fund of The Community Foundation has awarded Central Rappahannock Regional Library a $6,000 grant to purchase book prizes for children and teens who reach the 1,000 and 2,000-minute milestones in the library’s 2026 Summer Reading program.

Fredericksburg Branch Earns 2025 VPLDA Award - April 1, 2025
The Virginia Public Library Directors Association has presented CRRL with the Virginia Public Library Innovative Service Delivery Award, focusing on Fredericksburg Branch’s services to vulnerable populations, made possible by library partnerships with Faded & Co. Barber Academy, the Fredericksburg Department of Social Services, Fredericksburg Area Health and Support Services, Downtown Greens community garden, Rappahannock Area Health Department, the Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles, Legal Aid Works, and Lucha Ministries.
FredParent Magazine, 11th Annual Family Favorites Award Winner - July 1, 2025
The readers of Fredericksburg Parent & Family (FredParent) magazine named Central Rappahannock Regional Library as a first-place winner in three categories -- Activities & Lessons: Tutoring, as well as Family Fun: Indoor Activity and Free Things to Do.
Fredericksburg Branch Recognized with 2025 VLA Award - August 8, 2025
The Virginia Library Association presented staff at the Fredericksburg Branch with the 2025 Virginia Public Library Innovator Award, which recognizes public librarians or public library project teams who have made an outstanding contribution to advance the mission of a public library in Virginia through an innovative project, program, or service.
The award was given based on the branch's services to vulnerable populations, made possible by partnerships with Faded & Co. Barber Academy, the Fredericksburg Department of Social Services, Fredericksburg Area Health and Support Services, Downtown Greens community garden, Rappahannock Area Health Department, the Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles, Legal Aid Works, and Lucha Ministries.
