Managing a Library Account
You may renew your items anytime, unless that item is requested by another library patron. Items can be checked out for two weeks. There are multiple ways to renew:
- In Branch: ask a librarian to renew your items at the checkout desk.
-
Online: Log into your library account to access the renewal feature.
- After logging in, you'll be brought to your Library Dashboard. Under "My Borrowing," go to "Checked Out."
- You can individually renew an item, "select" all items to "renew" the selected, or you may "quick renew," which only renews items marked "overdue."
- A confirmation box will appear, informing you what has been renewed and what can't be renewed.
You cannot renew digital items through these methods.
You can renew items a number of times. However, if another library patron has put the title on reserve, you will be asked to return the item. If you would like to borrow the item again, you may place a hold on it.
The library does not charge overdue fees. Replacement fees are still being charged for lost or damaged items. Overdue fees were eliminated on January 1, 2023, and accumulated overdue fees were waived.

Due to the high volume of materials returned at library branches, it can take a few days for materials to be unpacked and checked in after they are returned in the bookdrop. This manual process involves library staff inspecting each item’s condition before it is checked in and goes back into circulation. This keeps the library's collection attractive and avoids mistakenly charging customers for damage.
