Online Catalog & Website FAQs

  • General Questions

Creating your online account is a simple process that takes just a few minutes.

Start here by entering your 14-digit library card number and pin. You will be prompted to go through a few steps.

Customers older than 13 will be required to create a unique username. You can always change this username later, or opt to continue logging in with your library card number and pin.

After you set up your account, we recommend that you go into My Settings and specify your preferred pickup location where you would like to pick up your holds. If you always pick up from the same place, you can turn on single-click holds to easily request books with just one click.

If you want to track your Borrowing History, you can opt into that feature as well.

Find more information about online accounts here.

While it's true that you can do a simple search of the catalog from the top of our homepage, you might prefer to bookmark just the catalog itself. The link is librarypoint.bibliocommons.com. Go there, and then use your browser software to bookmark it so it will be easy to find the next time you are online.

    1. Log into your online account at librarypoint.org , opens a new windowby clicking on the Log In/My CRRL purple box at the top right of your screen.

    2. Click on your username and go to Checked Out under My Borrowing on the drop-down menu.

    3. Above your list of items, you will see a box next to Select _ items. Click the box. A purple menu will appear at the bottom of the screen.

    4. You can select up to 25 items to renew at a time. Tip: If you have more than 25 items out, it helps to first select Sort By: Title so you can go through each page of Checked Out items.

    5. Click Manage items (a box to the right), then click Renew items.

Continue to the next page of items if applicable.

The library does not charge overdue fees. Replacement fees are still being charged for lost or damaged items. Overdue fees were eliminated on January 1, 2023, and accumulated overdue fees were waived.

Making Payments in a Library Branch:

    Online Payment:

Credit/debit card payments are accepted online. A receipt can be printed.

    • Click on “Log in/My CRRL” in the upper right corner.
    • You will be directed to "My Library Dashboard." Click on "Fees" under "My Borrowing."
    • If any fees are owed, the fees will be listed, and you will see a “Pay Fees” button.
    • Click "Pay Fees" and a payment window will be launched.
    • You can check or uncheck any individual charge and, for each charge, may change the amount in the “Payment” box to a lesser amount if you do not wish to pay the full charge at that time.
    • After specifying payment amounts, click the “Submit.” You will be directed to a “Payment Options” page where you can select “Pay From Credit Card” then enter your credit card information.

Once you are logged into your account and looking at a shelf display:

    • Click on the check box next to the item(s) you wish to delete.
    • A purple bar will pop up on the bottom. From there:
    • Click on Manage Items.
    • Click Remove from Shelves.
    • Click Remove Item(s).

If you are on a limited connection, you might find turning off the cover images helps your pages load faster. To do that, perform any catalog search you like. Once you have the results, look for a menu of four icons in the top middle of the screen.

Click on the first icon - three simple stacked lines. That will remove the cover images from the display.

Your browser should remember your choice for later searches - as long as you stay on the same computer.

  • Online Resources & Databases

Yes - the CRRL Mobile, Libby, Beanstack Tracker, and Kanopy, apps all have parental controls or filters that can be applied. See more here, opens a new window.

If you are in one of our ten branches, just click on the database link.

If you are at home (or anywhere outside of a library branch), you will need an online account

If you're already logged in to your account, you can go straight to your selected resource. If not, you'll be asked to log in using your library card number or username and your library PIN (usually the last four digits of your phone number).

If you haven't set up your online account yet, you'll need to take a few easy steps to get it set up.

A few of our resources have their own accounts that you'll need to set up the first time you access them.

Most of our databases are available outside of the library, but a few are only available within the library. This is marked with the following indication:

Only available at Central Rappahannock Regional Library

This appears if the resource is only accessible at a particular branch:

Only available at the Fredericksburg Branch

For our print magazines, you can access our library catalog online. If you choose to search the catalog by subject, say for education journals, then type in "education periodicals" (without the quotes!). You will obtain a listing of our holdings in journals/magazines about education.

You can also search by the specific journal title you need. We also have a collection of downloadable digital magazines, opens a new window, offered to library cardholders. To see all eMagazine options, go here.

We have a few learning resources that are offered in Español. You may go here to explore.

Our step-by-step guides can help you set up eBooks, eAudio, and eMagazines on your device. See all of our Digital Collection.
