June 5 is the debut of “Forging a New Nation: Colonial Iron Making in Virginia.” Join presenter Jon Bachman for an exploration of Virginia’s ironworking industry,, opens a new window spanning from its dawn in 1620 to its end in the 1920s.
Beginning June 12, watch “Loving Day.” This presentation details the importance of Loving Day, a holiday to commemorate Richard and Mildred Loving, opens a new window and their Supreme Court case from 1967, which legalized interracial marriage throughout the nation.
Starting June 26, you can view “AI & Writing.” Presenter Paige Edwards details how artificial intelligence can be used to aid various writing tasks.
July 10 showcases “Aaron Anderson: Medal of Honor Recipient.” Learn about Aaron Anderson and his achievements in the Union Navy that allowed him to become one of the first African American recipients of the Medal of Honor. Presented by Jon Bachman.
July 17 is the premiere of “Meeting Rooms, Study Rooms, and Privacy Pods.” Learn about the Library’s reservable spaces, opens a new window for individuals and groups. Some possible uses include quiet study, telemeetings, and performances.

August 21 is the debut of “Keeping Chickens.” Local farmers will introduce how to successfully raise and keep chickens--and ensure a supply of fresh eggs for you!
