Just because you're older doesn't mean you can't have fun while staying in shape. Porter Library's Awesome Seniors Exercise Class meets most every Thursday from 9:30 to 10:30. This free class is for people 55+. Exercises are done with the help of a chair.

Additionally, the library has exercise VHS tapes that feature routines that are friendlier to bodies with some mileage. Some videos use "chair fitness" routines similar to those found in the Porter exercise class, and there are also tai chi routines.

If you enjoy classes, look into the offerings at our local YMCA. The parks and recreation departments of Fredericksburg, Stafford, Spotsylvania, and Westmoreland counties also offer fitness classes targeted to those of a more experienced age.
