Join us for Teen Poetry Night, Tuesday, April 28, 7:30-9:00, at the Headquarters Library. Winners of the Teen Poetry Contest will be announced and read from their works. Claudia Emerson, winner of the 2006 Pulitzer Prize in Poetry and current Poet Laureate of Virginia, is our contest judge and host for the evening. Professor Emerson will also be reading from her works.

Artist's Statement:

As a photographer, my two main areas of interest are at different ends of the  movement spectrum- still life and animals. I take still life images because I love the details, and I take animal photographs because I love watching and interacting with animals.

During the week of April 13-19 (Bookmobile patrons through April 26), for every canned good or non-perishable item that you bring to your local library branch (nothing expired, nothing dented) we'll deduct a dollar from your overdue fines, up to a maximum amount of $10.00!

1 canned item = $1.00 applied to your account.

Donations may not be used to pay for lost or damaged library materials.
