Principal Harold Morton

This post is part of our Guest Picks series, featuring members of our library community sharing their favorite books and movies.

March's guest reader is a longtime educator with very local roots. Harold Morton has been the principal of Salem Elementary School for 15 years. He enjoys sports, movies, and school, and he says the best parts of his day are greeting students as they arrive at school and reading bedtime stories to his daughters at night.

Wise Words from Principal Morton:

“If I could give one piece of advice to parents, I would encourage them to read to their children. It is a great way to start conversations with your kids, and it's a nice way to calm down before bed. Reading is a wonderful way to have children use their imaginations. No matter what age, everyone loves to hear a story.”

Below are some of Principal Morton’s best picks for young readers. You can find them at your local library.
